RAC platinum plus warranty terms and conditions
Hi, so buying a used car 75000 miles on clock. Dealership is offering RAC platinum plus warranty for 2 years. I've pointed out that RAC warranty says under 8 years OR 80000 miles. I see that as meaning the car will only be covered for another 5000 miles use? The dealership is saying the warranty will cover car for 2 years and more than 80000 but thats not how it reads on the information leaflet. The car is just over 8 years old.

Can’t see any mention of it on the t&c, so maybe it is just the limit at which a policy can be started.

mind you, the labour limit of £45 and hour outside London is not going to cover much.1 -

Its provided for the RAC by The Warranty Group., using the reputation of the RAC .When it comes to claiming the usual response is 'Fair wear & tear', and no payout. Put the fee in the bank and use it to pay some or all of your repair bill.1

It sounds pretty useless given the exemptions for cover on cars over 80k. What are they charging for this warranty?landylad said:

It's free! It's included as part of the "deal".

thats the thing, it sounds good - especially the wear and tear cover but a lot of warranty doesn't apply beyond 80000 miles.0 -
Ask the dealer to remove the cost of the warranty from the sale price of the car and give you a 1-3 month warranty from dealer only. Nothing in life is “free”, except air and being nice.Mortgage free
