Gas boiler installation certificate question

Hi,
I have a question about the boiler installation certificate (to comply with building regs, not gas safety check that is optional).

The boiler at my house was installed in early 2022. When I bought the house, the sellers did not have installation certificate. They tried pass off the installation cert for previous boiler as current during the sale (different brand so no idea why they though it wouldn't be noticed) but that's a different story...

I looked it up on the gas safe register website and the installation cert did not come up in the search (there was only the cert for the previous boiler that was removed) so it looks like the installation was never properly notified - search on council's website also came up with nothing (only cavity wall insulation but nothing boiler related).

The manual for the boiler happened to have the details of the company who installed it (along with installation checklist, date of install etc) so I contacted them to see why there was no certificate issued.

I was told that the installation cert was left at the property on the day of installation (is it normally done on the same date?) and he gave me the certificate's number. The trouble is, that number is not correct... When I checked the gas safe register website again a few days later, a certificate that was not there previously suddenly appeared, the number was the same number at the one I was given by the installer, except the installation date stated on it was a week ago. So it looks like the boiler installation paperwork was never sorted properly when it was installed back in 2022 and the installer tried to cover it up by issuing a cert now (but for whatever reason put the wrong date of installation on it).

Where do I stand now? As far as the gas safe register and council are concerned, a new boiler was installed last week, but in reality it was done almost 3 years ago.

Also, how does this affect the manufactures' 7 year warranty? I tried to register the boiler on the manufactures website to see if the warranty was actually activated (had to be done within 30 days from installation) and after entering the serial number, it came back as already registered so the warranty must have been activated by the previous owners fairly soon after the install. Is the warranty valid if the installation was never correctly documented/notified?

Thanks for your advice and sorry for the long post.

It won’t affect the warranty. I had a similar issue with the lack of a Fensa certificate for the bungalow we purchased earlier this year. The installer issued one  issued one just before exchange, and it was dated on the issue date not the installation date.

You now have the certificate so I can’t see any cause for concern.
