Virgin Media ... Talk Weekends?

Hi,

Looking for a little help as our 12 month landline phone contract ends shortly (early Jan).

We were with BT, then switched to Toucan as we aren't heavy landline users at all ... occasionally making weekend calls, but we're out of the house all through the week, and we both have free minutes on our mobile phones which we use to chat to family.

The bills come in about £9-£11 a month ... which is about the smallest I can see out there.

However noticed the deal on Virgin Media (see link) ...
http://allyours.virginmedia.com/websales/product.do?id=3001
It's £11 a month, but includes Virgin TV.

Few questions ... have looked through their site but am not too sure where to find out whether or not our area is covered by the Virgin Cable network ... and also, are there any catches I'm missing, or people having had bad experiences?

Cheers for any help! :T

  • On the main page at the bottom left is a box where you put in your postcode, it will tell you whether or not you can have the service.

From what i know, no catches. You only get the basic tv package, M. But its worth getting, basically if you have Virgin Tv you might as well have the phone with them as well, as its included in the price, Virgin TV with no phone with them, waste of money, to me anyway.

I've been with Virgin, well NTL at the time, for 3 yrs. I wouldn't say they're 'great', but they're 'good' at keeping me with them, as when i do ring to complain i get my products discounted at a very good price, so good i don't leave.

To get the £11 package you do have to live in a cable area.

If their offering you a freeview box your in a non-cable area and this service requires you to have a BT Line.

Your be betting off sticking with Toucan if all you need is cheap line rental.

Ahhhh ... fair do's ... will have a look through Quidco and Greasypalm to see if there're any other similar priced options .. if not, then I'll stick!

Cheers for advice ... appreciate it! :T

  • Aye ... looks like I'll just stick with Toucan ... have had no problems with them at all so no sense in moving.

Cheers for all the help folks!
