Hello all from Mehefinland
Just a quick one from me .. been cleaning house and sorting out stuff ready for this evening when I am hosting a Chinese takeaway for my 2 lovely lot6s of friends who have been so supportive over the last few weeks. Its an opportunity to repay some hospitality and convey thanks. However the belt came of the vacuum cleaner which necessitated a load of fiddling about and some choice words!! Good job I am on my own lol. Anyway umpteen screws later it is fixed an working again.
Harvested pumpkins off the muckheap in the field yesterday afternoon. 13 in various states of yellowness, plus 6 already taken and a further 3 I subsequently spotted hiding under the foliage ( will get them later). Other than a few donated they can go to the library or school to raise funds. Afraid my steam driven 'phone isn't up to pictures - will liberate Dawn's and use that perhaps.
Didn't do tip run afterwards- just ran out of time.
Managed to go through the slides last night and saved the ones I liked best - the rest had to be binned as nobody wants pictures of rock formations etc from 50 years ago. Brought back a load of memories, not just of our time together, but from my pre-Dawn years too.
Ok , lots to do , so hugs and spoons as always

nannywindow said:. Mr Fix It had his oncology appointment and thankfully his stats had gone down again and his scan was clear, so he has a reprieve for another 3 months. We did explain that when he had his bloods he may have had a water infection but last the oncologist wasn't having any of it and just frightened us to death with his doom and gloom attitude. This one was totally the opposite in his outlook.TravellingAbuela said:Good news for you both NAN. Our finger crossing worked!
DD suggested we all have breakfast out tomorrow to stop me dwelling on my own and do some happy memory sharing instead. It would have been lunch but she is working later. Table booked and I am already looking forward to it! They do serve yummy breakfasts with gorgeous pastries too xAnd that's great news too - keeping those happy memories fresh is so important. Have a tasty breakfast.I've been out for the bread, it was still warm from the oven. The owner had also done scrumptious apricot & custard Danish pastries and a batch of the very bad for you but oh-so delicious butteries. I bought and ate one in the car!Inbetween torrential showers of sharp rain we have outbursts of bright sunshine, more like April than October, still chilly enough for an extra layer. The new Rebus audiobook has plopped into my library, I'm going to wait to start it until tomorrow when driving, it'll be a treat. Now I'm watching an old Miss Marple film with Rock Hudson and Elizabeth Taylor - only seen it six or seven times before - and slobbing out.
