Consolidating Pensions

I have several previous workplace pensions plus my current one. I'd like to consolidate these either all into the current workplace plan (with Aviva) or into something like an easy to administer Nest or Pensionbee or other (minus the current workplace one obviously). Which of these 2 options sounds best and if the latter, which App-based pension pot is best / has lowest fees?

Third option (which is what I did), pay for an IFA to look at your situation and recommend a strategy. I had no idea when it came to pensions and investments, so I was happy to pay his fee.0

I have had nothing but problems with Aviva and ive now got 2 pensions with them. firstly,my opinion, their shareholders get looked after before your pension pot. they have made several calculation errors with mine. I wouldn't trust them ever again. However you dont say what age you are.......some older pensions are better than current ones. if you dont have much pension knowledge you would do best to get some specialist advice. Building societies offer advice or look at the "Pensionwise" website- you can chat there free. Also you may prefer to wait until the new single pension notice board comes into play. this will allow you to see all your investments on a single screen.0

Pensionbee is expensive and you don't tell us anything about the Aviva pension (or any of the other schemes you have - one of those could be best)Building societies offer adviceVery few do nowadays and those that do tend to have an expensive robo-offering.

Contrary to the above I have had a good experience with Aviva.

It would help to give an indication of size of pots and your comfort with choosing investments. Administration itself should be a doddle with a relatively small amount- choose a multi asset fund in a provider that charges based on a %age of value, invest and then leave it alone. Bigger amounts might need a different approachI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

I used pensionbee to consolidate my collection of pensions. I found it an easy process and easy to navigate/use online, I wouldn't use nest based on my experience with them. I'm aware it's not a popular choice but I like it. Always get a fast response if any questions.0
