Hi. Filling out website for multi car insurance. I've got a new car coming and an existing car currently on another policy that I will add but will start in November. On the new car I guess I have 0 NCB but it says have I got experience. Do I put that as 7 years (NCB on other car) as a named driver (it doesn't have other policy owner) or the 20 odd years continuous experience of driving?
TIA

Most multi-car arrangements are technically separate policies with a harmonised renewal date, a multi-product discount and as a result, independent NCDs on each vehicle. There are a small number that offer a true single policy covering multiple vehicles, some are small fleet policies others something in-between.

"Have I got experience" isn't a standard insurance question so it'd be helpful if you give the exact question asked or say which website you are trying to get quotes from

OP mentions 'confused dot com' in the thread title but could be one of those people who say that when they just mean 'confused'!

If they're asking about experience, answer about experience. Don't answer a question they haven't asked.

FWIW I don't expect it will make much difference either way.

Yup - not talking about specific comparison.

In the end what they wanted to know was.

Had I had any claims in last 3 years (applied to main car).
When was the last time I had any claim at all (years driving without claim) applied to my second.

And you were right. It did not make a difference - as it has been a while since any claim.
