BT Sport/TNT - default

Hi Apologies if covered somewhere else. I had an account regarding the above for years. All fine until moved from BT sport to TNT. Then load of access issues with account and watching it. Got fed up and cancelled. They marked my account as defaulting and then settled.

What's the best way to get resolved. I had contacted them informally, through chat functions and they said account settled and pushed me to credit file companies. They in turn said it was BT

Any ideas or is to the Ombudsman?

Thanks in advance,as its killed my credit score

when you say "cancelled", did you phone them up to cancel, or just stop paying?

I don't understand. Are they saying you owe them money? Was there still some months to run on the contract when you cancelled?

If you didn't cancel this with them directly, and pay off any outstanding amounts for the remainder of the contract then there isn't anything to resolve here, other than to pay them what you owe them.

If all you did was cancel the DD or the CPA then very few companies will take that as official notice to cancel the contract.

If there was a settlement after the account was defaulted, that simply addresses the debt but doesn't reverse the default so that stays on the credit files for the rest of the six years if it's a factually accurate record of the conduct of the account.
