Travel insurance for 17 year old for next year

We've got a big family holiday planned for next August, with my wife and I there for 14 nights, but other parts of the family staying with us for for shorter periods.

My wife and I have a couples' annual travel insurance policy, so I'm trying to get single trip policies for my sons.

One of them is currently 17, but will be 18 by the time of the trip - but I'm struggling to get an application to work.

I'm either getting the message below, or 'cannot quote for the criteria entered' type responses. 



Any suggestions beyond wait until his birthday?

I'd suggest you look to a different insurer... many will want the buyer to be over 18 because of the issues of a minor and contract law but the buyer and the traveller dont have to be the same person.

It may also be that single trip insurance policies are rarely available for a holiday that's more than 12 months away. We booked flights once 18 months know advance, but couldn't buy insurance until 12 months before travel. An annual policy might be the way to go, and possibly not a lot more.
