Barclaycard not sending info. to CRAs

Options
Over 30 years I have had a Barclaycard, always paid in full monthly, late by 1 day 4 times.I recently thought I would check my credit score through MSE and Money supermarket. They only have 1 credit card listed, which is Capital one card.Contacted Barclaycard and they said, due to a system error your credit information has not been sent to the CRAs (Trans Union,in particular)but we cannot send backdated information. So my perfect risk assessment will not be available to any company that checks my credit score.I asked to speak to the manager responsible for sending information to the CRAs and was told their isn't one.Does anyone know how to resolve this situation ? Thanks.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Not all lenders report to all CRAs. There are three major ones. TU is probably third place.

Check the other two if you are interested. I would expect Barclaycard to appear there

Its not been available for 30 years and you presumably haven't had a problem as a consequence yet so why is it an issue for your now?

Whilst your "perfect risk assessment" won't be visible to others nor will the fact you have a £Xk credit limit that they'd need to factor in when deciding if and how much to lend to you given in principle you could go out tomorrow, max it out and then not be able to repay in full going forward.

As with all things in credit risk assessment, most things are a double edged sword

It's an issue now because I want a 0% 21 months purchase card, so my risk is important, but will the company make much money from me,no not really.

I've also had a Barclaycard for 30-odd years and it doesn't appear - I've always assumed that's because my agreement with them predates the establishment of any of the main reference agencies. It's never been an issue for me and I've always had a stream of 0% offers should I want to take one

Lenders do not see the figure, they look at history (missed payments) but you make no mention on how long ago the 4 missed were.
Feeds are taken from all CRA & will show your payment history over a given period.
Your biggest issue will be income v available credit facility & maybe more important. If you fit the profile that your chosen lender is looking for.

Weird, Barclays report my card to all 3

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

This is the correct answer for @mrsdoyle
This page from TransUnion https://www.transunion.co.uk/consumer/credit-report-help/why-cant-i-see-some-of-my-financial-accounts-on-my-credit-report explains it and the same will apply to the other credit reference agencies.
That suggests asking the lender to start reporting - Barclaycard may be prepared to do that going forward, but they wont be able to report your past history.
  • It’s because 30 years ago Barclaycard didn’t have permission to share your data with credit reference agencies.
