I was entitled to claim Education maintenance allowance for daughter but got a new job 1 month after school started and I am now above the threshold for 2 kids. is it per tax year or academic year in Scotland please ? Morally I think I should let them know but I can't see anything on the information on local government or Scottish government sites. Any advice please? Thanks.

When you applied, didn't they ask you for tax year 2023-2024 income details/ proof of same?As your income has increased, what is your expected income for 2024-2025 tax year?It is per tax year. If you are still above threshold then let them know.1

You need to meet the criteria for residency, household income and education status to qualify for EMA. Contact your local council's EMA team if you have any questions about your eligibility.
