Carers allowance and income

I’m a carer but I also work and I’m over the income to get carers allowance.
 Wanted to know if I can still claim and get other benefits for being a carer I.e reduction in council tax, higher universal credits etc?

You can claim carers element of UC providing you're not claiming the LCWRA element for yourself. However, if the person you're caring for is claiming benefits their self then you need to check which ones they are claiming. If any of them include the Severe disability Premium, they will lose that if you claim carers element or Carers allowance.

Nothing to do with carers allowance but it may be worth checking your local councils criteria for council tax discounts. 

We get a discount on our council tax as my 8 year old son gets DLA & one room in our house is used specifically for his needs( not including a bedroom) we also had a shower room added for him. 

We don’t receive any other benefits except child benefit. The council also backdated over 12 months of discount to when we moved in not from when we applied.
