Dehumidifier with multiple timers

We've got a Meaco Arete. It's pretty good, but it doesn't have a timer.
We have solar panels and cheap electricity during the night, so I'd really like to limit run times to 0900-1700 and 0030 and 0530.
I've back a look around, but not found anything that does this. Before I give up, has anyone seen such?

Does it work such that it can be "turned on" and then just operated via the plug? If so then you can get a timer plug for it... could be smart or mechanical. Others have already proposed smart ones but you could also get a cheaper mechanical option like https://www.amazon.co.uk/Defender-Segment-Timer-Switch-Plug/dp/B01CP44AU4/ but it won't automatically correct for BST etc.Grenage said:We've got a Meaco Arete. If its switches are electronic rather than mechanical so giving it power alone cannot turn it on then you are looking at a different dehumidifier0 -
smart plug won't work (with my dehumidfier). It controls on/off power to the machine, but won't actually turn it "on". Will work for off though, obviously.

We have a Meaco Arete with a Tapo smart plug. It works fine on timers and when it turns on, it returns to it's last settings. The Tapo plugs let you set multiple timers3

My Arete doesn't turn on when power is turned on and off from the wall. Did you have to do anything special?
I was under the impression that stuff with compressors need to over run the fan and hard cutting the power was bad for them.0 -
The extraction rate of compressor dehumidifiers is temperature dependent, running overnight with the heating off might not be the most effective way to run them.Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. S.Clarke0

That's a good point, although our kitchen is generally cooler than would be ideal for the unit either way.Eldi_Dos said:The extraction rate of compressor dehumidifiers is temperature dependent, running overnight with the heating off might not be the most effective way to run them.1 -
I have found running a dehumidifier in too cold a situation can lead to it needing deiced, if it was in its deicing cycle and power was cut off mid cycle the ice could melt and end up on floor.Grenage said:
