Lost returned parcel

I returned some taps to the online merchant as they were unsuitable.
I requested a return and sent them back to the merchant unused in original packaging.
Unfortunately I thought I'd sent them by a signed for service but I stupidly only sent them back by Royal Mail tracked in error.
I got confirmation of delivery and a picture from Royal Mail but the merchant has not acknowledged receipt or refunded me so it looks like they have gone missing after delivery.
What are my options here please?

Have you asked the retailer if they have them?  You have evidence they were delivered to them, so I'd be going back to the retailer to ask where your refund is.

The retailer has said they dont have them but according to RM they were delivered 1/10. Retailer has gone dark on me now!
Really wished I'd checked what service I sent them by more thoroughly.

If you paid via debit/Credit card. Then time for a chargeback.

Chargeback and s75 are examples of disputes.

Search for Dispute on the website and it will walk you through the process of disputing a transaction.
