Firefox

I was advised of an update to Firefox, downloaded it, and now I've got an error message: platform version 131.0 not compatible with mini and max versions.
Fortunately I've got Chrome, but I'd like to get Firefox back. How?
TIA
David.

Thanks, but what happens to my saved favourites and bookmarks?

Maybe back them up and/or export them over to Chrome first, then import them back after the upgrade? If they've already gone walkabouts then maybe try here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recover-lost-or-missing-bookmarks

I've already got the Firefox bookmarks in Chrome, but I can only see import, not export.

You either directly import them back to FF from Chrome using the import bookmarks settings in FF, otherwise you can export them from Chrome through the bookmark manager: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/96816?hl=en This will save them as a file that FF can use to import

I'm sure your bookmarks won't be touched when installing the new version of Firefox, just as long as you don't delete them or ask the installer/uninstaller to remove personal data.
I'm assuming that you're on Windows, as I don't see any mention of which operating system you're running.  If not, ignore the below paragraph and let us know your operating system.
If you want to ensure your current data is backed up, then in Windows open File Explorer and type in %appdata% into the address bar and press Enter.  You will see a folder called Mozilla and this is what you need to make a copy of.  If possible, copy the Mozilla folder to an external drive, unplug the drive and then you'll know that your data is absolutely fine and can't be touched.

If you're lucky (like me) the 'upgrade' to 131 deletes all your profies and scews up most of your addons.  131 has to be the bigest pile of **** since FF started.  I've been using it for years without a problem until now.  Now I've lost everything, 131 even refuses to work with my profile backups!

I've switched to Floorp and never intend to go back to FF

Well I don't know what you're doing or have been doing  but I had the upgrade to 131 and can count the amount of stuff lost on the hands of a man with no fingers.

Nothing changed in 131 to affect add-ins...

Well Neil Jones, as mentioned in my initial post, I can't get into 131 at all, no chance to do anything with it at all!
