Boiler and main gas valve

Options
I have for the first time in my terraced property had to replace my boiler. I am concerned that where the gas meter is, there is no sign of a gas shut off lever or small square knob. How do I go about finding it? It is a 1900 house and have never needed to shut off the gas so far from the mains.

Any pictures of the current set up? If you’re worried you can raise a check for safety with your local network and they will be able to come and check it.

What has your Gas Safe boiler installer(s) said when coming to provide Quotations for the job?
They will be familiar with gas meters and isolation valves for them.

Pictures of the gas meter area will be helpful.

There should be a shut off valve close to the meter or in easily accessible location close by. Who ever replaced your boiler should have isolated the supply - Did they not point out where the valve was ?

If you haven't got a shut off valve, your local gas distribution operator should fit one as it is a legal requirement as well as a safety issue. Use this web site to find out who you need to contact - https://findmygdn.co.uk/

I’m surprised no one has mentioned the 2 flexible connections on your gas meter.

Or the close proximity of the consumer unit & associated cables.

Wouldn't be at all surprised to find the shutoff valve hidden under the insulation and wooden boards.
