Morning all. I'm off to Glasgow very shortly to take my crunched car to the bodywork garage. The car hire company will collect me from there, take me to their place to sort out a car for me then I'll head back home.
I hope that all is well with everyone.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, hope all goes smoothly.
Very cold this morning but due to be a sunny day. Washing on the line including the last of the waterproof trousers from school, hoping to get those back tomorrow so they aren't cluttering up my house before the holiday.
Pleased to hear the little one is managing at school dp1. Hope you get care for your Dad sorted out soon.
Hope you get better weather for your holiday SuffolkSue.
I had a busy day at work yesterday, forgot all about a biggish job but all sorted now. It's one of my colleague's 60th birthday today so there will be cake!
Well done on the decluttering Mehefin.
Have you moved yet Coxy?
Have a good day, take care. XX12 -
Morning allVery interesting day yesterday watching PMQs. Walked through the big hall where the Queen laid in State before her funeral. There is a plaque there for her and others like Churchill etc. I didn't know this but saw that the Lobby has it's own Post Office! The Lobby itself is very beutiful with a stunning mosaic like floor. Straightforward journey there and back thank goodness. All in all a good day and would recommend if this is your sort of thingGlad your DGD is settling back into school well DP1Hope everyone has a good day x14

Morning folks and thanks GERS. I hope they can offer you a car you like.
Bit of a change on the weather front this morning, it feels much chillier so I have popped the heating on for a little while. I am supposed to be meeting DF for lunch today but, as usual, I have to await confirmation that she can make it. They got to the late appointment for her DH's brain scan last night = at a hospital quite a way away, so a worrying time now waiting for the result.
If we are not meeting I shall resume the shredding mountain and drag out even more. Goodness knows why I have kept all this old stuff. Out of sight out of mind I suppose.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Good news at last from Dp1. Take care all stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Hello everyone
I’m back! Amazing 10 days on Arran and a week or so in mid-Argyll. Weather was great, far better than at home and I managed to have a day with my BF in Fort William (we talked for 5 hours non-stop) and see an ex colleague for coffee in Carlisle on the way home.Back to it now - huge amount of craft work for forthcoming Christmas fairs and start back invigilating exams at college tomorrow.Have been reading along so will just throw out hugs for the poorlies and best wishes for all those that are worried, struggling or sad.AA12 -
Hi everyone,
Chaos reigned here yesterday because the people putting in the air source heat pump came and changes most of the downstairs radiators. Because it operates at lower temperatures you need a bigger surface area radiator to generate the heat in the room. I'm a bit worries about our bedroom because it's got two outside walls and is above the garage so it's a bit chilly at the best of times but we've been told it doesn't need a bigger radiator. I just hope we're not making an expensive mistake (it's costing us 3 times the price of a gas boiler even with a grant, however gas boilers are being phased out so I suppose it's for the best). Today they are coming to replace the expensive pressurized tank we had put in a couple of years ago, another thing I hadn't expected. The pump itself will go in next week, luckily we have a warm house and haven't needed any heating yet. Sorry for sounding a bit fed up, we had crossed wires and Steve ordered it and paid a deposit before I was ready and I think I'd have put it off a bit longer to think some more about it.
Laura's going to a funeral in Hereford today so she will be leaving soon. Brian is back from Wales so he and I will get the children to school and nursery because Steve has headed out to Chris and Crystal's for the morning. I want to have a good tidy round downstairs this morning and do some crafting this afternoon.
dp1, I'm glad little one is back to school, long may it continue.
Mehefin, well done on the clearing, how frustrating about the boots, I'm sure most of us have done similar things.
Nanny, I hope you got your dad in the car.
Taff, it sounds as if your upheaval is near it's end, I sympathise.
Have a good day.

Good morning all
Thank you for the start Gers
Haven't slept much for the last few nights.
It's a year ago today I lost my lovely DH. Don't think I'll see anyone today.
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.13 -
Good morning, I'm a bit later than usual, I had another bad night. I'm used to it though.
It's fine but damp, yesterday was terrible, non stop rain. I was busy at home though, with ironing and general housework so the day passed quickly.
We are going down to the south west on Monday to visit Dh's brother, we'll stay till Friday. When we get back I have a couple of sewing jobs to do but might get them started before Monday.
I need to go out this morning for bread and potatoes, I think that's all any way..
Snoozer it's all happening in your house, hope everything works out ok.
Hope all goes well with the car Gers.
Glad the little one is ok at school Dp1.
Your day out sounded interesting Chrisca, glad you enjoyed it.
Thoughts to any sad or poorly people.
Take care folks.

Morning all
Damp and dreary here with more rain due later, I am off to collect Rob this morning and take him to work we made a banana loaf yesterday which turned out well.
I have the will lady coming tonight to alter our wills which hopefully won’t take too long she is coming at 5 so hopefully it will be done by 6, I have also decided to organise my paperwork a bit better and will do a file for dd to use in the event of our passing I will put all relevant info into one file details of pensions, wills, POA and insurance and house deeds ets it will make it a bit easier when the time comes.
Summer in Winter chicken tonight as it’s quite quick and easy to make, I will need to have a quick tidy and hoover before our meeting.
SO thinking of you today and sending love xx
Gers hope your car gets sorted quickly xxx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning, thanks for the start Gers, hope the car change over goes smoothly.
Dull outside, feels chillier but dry. At least we haven't got it as bad as Florida, poor souls.
Ruby, thank you for explaining about Robs mum, it's so frustrating when you make suggestions to try and help people and they can't be bothered. I think you're doing the right thing stepping back as it seems her family dont want to know either. Am I wrong in still feeling a bit sorry for her, she sounds lonely and depressed? By the way, off to Lids today to get gammon.
Chrisca, I used to work close to the Houses of Parliament and passed them every day, haven't been inside though.
SO, today will be tough,, hope all your good memories surround you and help you through. ((Hugs))
Hav a good day all, hope your day goes well.
Love to all x

Morning...My day off yesterday turned into a morning off in the end..my friend came round, we had tea, cake and went to the upcycle place for a gander [came back with three cookbooks] then they phoned that the car was ready [ so I have to do battle with the warranty company today], fetched that , OH took a half day to finish painting things, the tiler came back briefly to fetch something he's forgotten tot take with him, I filled some screw holes in the door frame, then my firends husband phoned to say she'd fainted cracked her head open, asked me to help, so I was round there for a while, then I had to go shopping because everyone is coming today for bread, egs etc, didn't have time to make the lamb curry I'd got all the stuff out of the freezer for so we ended up with cheese on toast and I made the curry about ten for today instead. Back to usual duties today of tea and sarnie making, sand down and wax stain a door frame while the tiler is busy in the big room. Once he's done grouting in the bathroom that can be fitted hopefully [ although the bits won't be here until Monday probably. The painting is done now though..Sue, hope it's not raining for you today! mehefin, shame about the shoes, but I found the same clearing my mothers, some of the soles had just disintegrated. Well done for getting on with the clearing, it's a difficult thing. nanny, hope the shopping went well with a side order of mountaineering into the car
dp1, glad she's settling back in again. Gers, you made me laugh with a scone that tasted of scone
fingers crossed the car is done quickly. camelot, can't beat cake! Chris, it does sound interesting but I'm not sure I can face going to London..maybe a virtual one will do...TA, at least he went, fingers crossed for reults. Allie, sounds like you had a lovely time, just what you needed
snoozer, it's all go! You'll have to let us know about the heat pump and how it goes. SO, it's never easy to do or have the first of anything after you lose someone, hugs. Take care all, hugs for ones that want them...
