Joint Executor with the legal firm who drew up the will - do they have to be involved/paid?

Options
I've just found my sisters will - which she had asked me to be executor for.
It also lists the legal firm who drew up the will as an executor - and they have the original copy.

I will have to call them to get the original - but before I do - do they have to be involved (i.e. be paid)? It's a very simple - split 3 ways will - looking at their website, I've already done most of what they will charge £1,500 plus VAT to assist with?

(I've just posted a separate thread on a Death in Service payment - I suppose I could involve them in that if needed)

You can ask them to step down, and their guidance says that they should agree unless they have a good reason why not.

You need to explain why it’s in the best interest of the estate for them not to act.

Which in this case would be it is a simple estate with no disputes on the horizon  and the fees would take up higher proportion than is necessary given you already have already done most of the legwork.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

No need to. Please see my response on that thread.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
