New Postage options EBay

This has been mentioned on other threads but thought would separate it in case some (like me) was looking specifically for something.
I just went into a draft listing I had started and I noticed now four new discreet boxes that weren’t there yesterday as far as I remember.
Basically says
Postage or collection in person
Postage only
Collection only
Freight only (oversized items)
The primary service is defaulted to Evri tracked buyer pays £2.94
Then says for complete seller protection, choose postage with tracking and purchase the postage label through EBay.
Being a creature of habit I’ve always used Royal Mail, so I’m wondering what less protection I get if I change the default Evri and add Royal Mail and additionally if I purchased the postage directly from RM rather than through EBay (& I realise someone will say why do that, but I’m just trying to clear what difference it would make to me as a private seller)

I think if you use this new thing where the P&P isn't anything to do with you then eBay (rather than yourself) will refund the buyer if the parcel is lost but IIRC Evri is the only option it's not something I will use personally.
Running a quick test, primary postage option was still RM on the SYI form, either carried over from the last listing or because there isn't an Evri drop off point anywhere near where I live.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
I had Evri as the 1st option on a listing I made today, followed by Yodel and RM,maybe because I had them in price order 🙂0

I had an INR case today (from end August) Default said customer chose Evri but I'd used RM 2nd class LL as it was 150g and fitted the LL postage. I hadn't uploaded tracking as I'd used the PO counter and didn't know I could.
Today I uploaded the tracking, which showed delivery, from the certificate of posting and the case was closed automatically after about 10 minutesLove living in a village in the country side0 -
I havent an Evri drop of point near me either so will likely stick to RM.
The other issue is, although eBay have stated they will cover all postal losses if the label/service is purchased via eBay (which I always do anyways), how does this cover breakages? With the way Evri throw packages over the garden fence etc, I'd be more concerned about INAD claims as well as INR.0 -
