Cheap phone and tablet

Options

Hi looking for some direction please, my wife would like to replace her old phone and tablet, we are talking old.

Phone is a Moto G5 that’s about 6 years old

Tablet Samsung Galaxy tab A 10.1 16GB +2GB Ram. That’s about 8 years old.

As you can see, both very basic gear. She has around £350 to £400 to spend.

Phone is just for calls, texts, what’s app and e bay. Tablet is mostly for e bay, emails, photos and general surfing.

Any recommendations very much appreciated.

I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

    I've been very happy with Samsung over the years.  I tried Motorola and hated it.
    Phone - Samsung A25 5G
    Tablet - Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+

    I am still running an even older Moto G5 but a year ago I bought a Moto G82 in readiness for the former's demise.

    I'm using a Samsung A9+ tablet and am pleased with it. The phone is quite old (A Samsung A70). Samsung perhaps have a better reputation for keeping updates going for longer than Motorola.
  • Very happy with the Galaxy Tab S9 FE I found at John Lewis for £269 in June. The Galaxy A15 phone at around £150 does well on the review sites.

    For tablet, check out if anyone sell Redmi pad pro cheap on facebook market place.

    Xiaomi recently do a deal for Xiaomi 14T + Redmi pad pro for £500. It is likely there are people selling the tablet.
