Spoonie_Turtle said:The simple way to know what's capital at the end of your assessment period is to
total up what's in your accounts between you (as it's a joint claim),
total up the payments of income you've both received during that assessment period (benefits, any wages),
then minus income from the total.
Also as above COL payments are disregarded - the legislation simply says 'no account' is to be taken of them for determining entitlement to benefits, i.e. it is as if they don't exist. I'm not sure about any other things such a carer's grant, you'd have to find that out yourself if you know exactly what it's called.
What counts is the circumstances at the end of your UC assessment period. On your statements it should say something like 'for the period Y October - X November 2024'. Good suggestion above to see if you can get an online bank 'statement' to better fit those periods to more clearly show the situation at the end of your APs.0 -

If they're regular payments (e.g. wages, benefits) then they will; most one-off payments count as capital from when they're received but with some exceptions.1 -
Can anyone advise me how to get the correct paypal statements that they are asking for? My paypal account has been inactive for a year. The instructions they give to obtain a paypal statement i cannot proceed with as i do not have an option to "switch to classic view" on either the app or desktop. I have been trying for hours and they have rejected the "transaction overview" thing you download from the Paypal site and said they need a statement. I called Paypal who said because i haven't used the account in a while there is no statement. They want these "statements" uploaded in a couple of days and i am at a loss as to what to do. Thanks0

The options i have on paypal to download in pdf are "All transactions", "Balance affecting", and "completed payments". I have sent them these and they said they cannot accept it as they need statements. There is nothing there for "statements" and there is no option anywhere to "switch to classic view" in order to get the "statement" option so i'm not sure what i'm supposed to send to them.0
