Tampa hotel refund / hurricane

I've booked two hotels across a week's stay in Tampa in early November.
These were booked on non-refundable offers.
I'm considering not going on the trip, because the area is unlikely to be any kind of place for a holiday as Hurricane Helene and Milton clean up will no doubt still be ongoing.
Assuming the hotels will be open, is there ANY opportunity for getting a refund from the hotels, or even credit?
I won't be covered by travel insurance, as there won't be any travel advisories in place, and it will be my choice not to go.
I get the argument about supporting the local economy in a time of need, but I'd would rather do that a later date (I have donated to hurricane relief efforts already).
Thanks everyone 🙂

Only as a good will gesture from the hotel.2

If the hotel(s) have been damaged by the hurricane then the insurer should pay out.

November is some weeks away. Wait and see what unfolds. Refunds if they are open are more likely zero. That's your choice.1

Not sure your exact reasoning I have lived through this scenario in that region and whilst I appreciate no one knows where and how much damage will be caused, I would not be cancelling unless advised too and at which time compensation offers will be in place I myself will be travelling to that region soon and have not given voluntary thought to cancelling unless officially announced.0

How it will be in early November is even more speculative, the 2005 tsunami shows how variable these things are, a month on Sri Lanka had recovered substantially having had a major action to get tourists back whereas other countries less impacted by the surge itself were further back on recovering tourism infrastructure.
You booked non-cancellable hotels so you have no grounds for cancellation other than goodwill from the hotel itself unless the FCO says dont travel or the hotel itself is closed due to storm damage. There is therefore no point speculating and the decision can be deferred until well beyond the storm hitting.2 -
