Amazon assigned wrong returns address so supplier didn't receive it and they want me to chase Evri

I returned a 9ct ring through Evri using the Amazon QR code to print my label at the Evri shop. After a week I contacted the seller to request my refund. He said he hasn't received it. I checked my tracking number and it said it has been received 22nd Sept @ 11.08am. The seller asked for the tracking number. When I logged on again to check the tracking details, it looks like Evri have reallocated the tracking number to another parcel!!  Luckily I took a screen shot. I was trying to contact Evri all day but, they do not have a customer service department!! Just automated services that ask for your tracking number, then give you a status update - that's it!

During the conversation with the seller he asked where I had returned the parcel. I asked Amazon as the only thing against my order/return was the QR code. I sent the seller the address Amazon had given me. The seller said this is completely the wrong address. An AtoZ guarantee was opened with Amazon. I told them the return address was incorrect. I spoke to customer services who told me Amazon will contact the seller about this but not to worry as Amazon will refund me.

The seller kept on insisting that the address is wrong and that it's an Amazon issue (to Amazon, I can read the exchanges) Amazon say it's his issue as he's responsible for adding the correct return details. They went backwards and forwards a number of times. Then I get an email from the AtoZ guarantee saying that my tracking number is wrong and that I have to contact Evri to make a claim and they closed my query!!

The address was wrong, my return was delivered to the wrong address because Amazon put the wrong address on the return and they have passed the responsibility back to me!

What do I do now? The ring was £133.99!!

If Amazon gave you the return address the retailer supplied it is not Amazon’s fault it was wrong.
  • Hello OP

Seems odd Evri would reallocate the tracking number so quickly but as above if you opened a A-Z and used the label given which was then delivered you should be covered.

Amazon CS will very much stick to the script, if you aren't having any luck with them some posters have reported a result by writing a letter to Amazon's UK head office address.
