Chase account

Hello

Just after some advice…I currently have nationwide flex account which has over 10 direct debits to debt companies managing my own dmp.

I get worried sometimes with a lot of debt payments going out etc, trying get on top of my money now in thinking joining chase for salary and sending a lump sum each month to nationwide to cover all direct debits and using chase for everyday spending and saving some.

credit isn’t great however is chase an ok bank anyone had any issues?

many thanks

I've been with Chase for a couple of years and love it. It's not my main account, which is used for monthly household bills. Chase is my back up account and used for everyday spending and its savings pots.

No issues with Chase personally, however I also do not use them as my main bank. Account management is app only, which I'm fine with but some dislike, but otherwise it's more or less the same as every other high street bank I've used. Full FSCS protection, and doesn't require a hard credit search to open, which will probably be good in your situation.

Okay many thanks! Think I’ll keep my salary going into nationwide leave enough bills and debt payments and send over the remaining to chase.

Chase are excellent.  Easy to contact and very helpful.  Outstanding security (no surname or number on card, contactless can be switched off, hence totally useless to a thief).  6-fig app PIN.  Telephone security uses the app, no insecure SMSs.  I only use it as a secondary account to get cashback and no foreign loading or usage charges, but I'm favourably impressed.  Credit card coming soon.

I have Chase for spending and also have any Premium Bond wins paid in there (as small wins are usually spending money.) They give a notification when money is paid in which I don’t get with my main account. The only problem I’ve had was a refund not being available to spend for several days despite showing as credited within the Chase app - though Curve might well have been responsible for the delay. I use this with Chase if I am making a purchase on which Topcashback etc offer additional cashback, after having a transaction declined as the ‘last click’ was deemed not to be Topcashback. I figured the last click was therefore Chase, when in-app authorisation of the purchase was required.

Chase only require a successful ID check in order to open an account, not a credit check, so you should be fine.
