Demand Flexibility Scheme this winter?

They have set up the industry notification system ready to go. Bit early to start though. Maybe we'll get a test one sometime0

They’ve had at least two years of testing, will there actually be a need for further testing this year, or just real events?PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)0

DFS is expected to continue this year with NESO (taking over from NGESO), although there will be no planned test sessions. Proposal was submitted to Ofgem for review around the end of September, with an expected go live date in November.
I’ve kept my DFS thread somewhat up to date with this year’s proposals, hopefully will add to it as we get into winter if more domestically relevant news comes out and the scheme gets going - as far as I can tell they have indeed kept up the work going on in the background since last year.

"NESO’s assessment suggests sufficient surplus capacity throughout winter, though it remains ready to use standard operational measures, such as system notices, during periods of tight supply.
Craig Dyke, director of system operations at NESO, said: “As we publish our first Winter Outlook as the National Energy System Operator, it is positive to see that margins forecast for this winter are the highest since 2019/20.
“This is driven by a range of factors such as additional generation, increased storage capacity and new interconnection"

Thanks all for the replies, looks like it's on then and I guess we'll hear the details soon. Be interesting to see how the individual suppliers handle this, both the bidding and what they offer us.1

The DFS scheme is to be extended to cover the entire year but just the winter months. According to the article below, the National Energy System Operator is just waiting for Ofgem approval
