Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, enjoy your coffee.
I had a fairly lazy day yesterday, just had to nip out for something for school. I finished sewing up the cardigan and put the buttons on, the little one is staying here on Saturday so she can get the cardigan then. I also made 10 covers for the ice packs at school, took longer trying to work out a pattern than actually sewing them!
I lit the fire yesterday but as it was fairly mild out the house got very warm (for a change) and it's still nice and cozy, it looks like another miserable day out this morning.
This week at work then a week off - seems to be all holidays at the moment. Happy Monday, take care. XX11 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. It feels chilly this morning after about a week of warmer days, so I have put the heating back on again to warm the place up. It's gonna seem a long winter after the miserable summer we have had.
The sad times continue here. SIL passed away peacefully yesterday morning, just 7 months after her diagnosis. She was just 72 last week. Then today we have another funeral to go to. It's youngest SIL's first husband. We have only seen him intermittently at family occasions since the split but he was still the much loved dad of my 2 nieces so we are going to support them. DD is picking me up and we are collecting my BIL and SIL on the way. He was only 71 which is no age these days.
I got my shopping done at top speed with DS yesterday morning and, as usual, forgot a couple of things on the dash round!. This week's soup is to be celery so a head of celery is on the side waiting to be chopped up. I cba yesterday. It seems an age since I made that.
Have a better day than me folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. I did read back on yesterday's post but seem to have forgotten all I read. Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning all. Another dark and dank day ahead I think.@Camelot - you're a whizz at sewing. The bag you gave me is used every day, so much so that the handles are starting to fray!@TA - what a sad time for you and the family, I hope that all goes well today and that the rain holds off. I don't like celery so never use it though I read recently that it should be part of every soup. I may give it a try.Well, yesterday I got my act together, abandoned slow Sunday and moved my behind out of my chair. I made the leek, lentil and carrot soup so it's all portioned up. Don't suppose it tastes much of any of those ingredients individually but it's nutritious and tasty in its own right.
I roasted the sausages and did a white load of washing which is now hanging on the airer upstairs and drape over the balcony. I experimented again with a 30 degree wash, it worked so well and the smart meter display stayed in the 'green'. My cleaner's vacuum makes it go orange so that was a pleasant surprise. I may be converted!
I watched the last two episodes of 'Grace' and two of 'Chelsea Detective', they are so different and finally the results of SCD - inevitable I think. This morning I have my exercise class and then probably wait for a plan to materialise from the ether.Take care everyone, some are due battering rain.11 -
Morning allSorry to hear you're going to have such a sad day TA. Hope it all goes as well as it can.Washing to hang out when I can drag myself out of my pit. Going to a shopping park today that have some big shops to wander round to get some ideas on some stocking fillers and also something for my long time workmate who has a significant birthday next month. Looking to be dry today which is good.Have a good day to you all x12

Morning everyone Im going out to meet my friend for a coffee and a catch up soon TA sorry to hear you are having such a sad time hope everything goes as well as it can today. Gers I used to hate the taste of celery but tasted it by accident in a salad when I got older and I love it one of my favourite things either raw or cooked it’s strange how tastes change although I don’t turn my nose up at much . Not a lot happening otherwise here meatballs for tonight I’m still on a mission to empty my freezer for Xmas and I seem to have some odds and sods of different things to work my way through. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning! Damp and dismal but them's the breaks..I went to the allotment yesterday and did a bit of slashing and burning, actually, no burning, just slashing, I need to make a plan of what goes where now and try and do it right so I don't ave to redo it. OH painted the inside of the extension, it will need another coat probably and I have to fetch the paint for that after, and some woodfiller for the door frames. Would you believe we picked the only one that seems ot have been discontinued? Yes, you probably would ::sigh:: anyway, other than that, not doing a lot today, ther's some washing but I'm not feeling that, I made lasagna last night so that's tonight too, other than that, it's a potter kind of day...camelot, good to hear the wedding went well and aren't you brave, going by yourself [ even if there was an ulterior motive
] TA, how sad for your extended family, it never rains but it pours...Gers, you don't really taste the celery so much, it's just an added savoury note. How do you feel about lovage? Izzy, I think you're right, I used to dislike strong cheese, now you can't keep my paws off it...enjoy the catch up! Have a good day if you can folks...

Morning all
Dry here for now but rain due mid morning and then for the rest of the day the air feels very damp and cold. I have Rob coming today which I am very pleased about hopefully he will be well all week!
Dinner tonight will be carbonara with the gammon I cooked yesterday, I will do the ham egg and chips tomorrow night when dd is here as it’s one of her favourites.
I have a solicitor coming this week to amend our wills it’s something that’s been on my mind for ages so it will be good to get it done, I also need to arrange POA for OH and myself at some point.
TA I am so sorry to hear about your SIL sending lots of hugs to you xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning, sunny start to the day here, hope it lasts.
Yesterday I gave the fridge and freezer a good clean out. I think there's enough food for the rest of the month. Izzy, I ate down the freezer ready for Xmas but obviously did it too early as it was decidedly empty at the weekend.
TA, such a sad time for you, thinking of you.
Ruby, glad you're seeing Rob today.
No idea what today will bring, will just go with the flow.
Have a good day, love to all x10 -
