Sorry if these are really daft question but I am struggling to work it out.

I have recently relocated and transported my motorbike to my new address. I knew things were about to expire but wanted to wait until I was properly moved first (I was living in temporary accommodation in new area while bike was stored in garage at old address hundreds of miles away, I am now in my new permanent home).

Is this the right order?
1) Update address on V5C
2) Renew insurance (expired 10 days ago)
3) Get MOT (expired 12 days ago)
4) Buy Tax (expired 6 days ago)

Can I ride the bike to the MOT test centre with no MOT and tax? It's an old bike with many miles on the clock so I am not convinced it will pass smoothly. If it cannot pass then I will cancel the insurance within the 14 days.

Really you should renew the insurance immediately (unless the 'bike is SORN, the Law is continuous insurance or SORN, automatic fines spew out of a cash register somewhere on a time basis, same as for tax.)

you can update the V5c online right now https://www.gov.uk/change-address-v5c

so, unless you are MOTing it Monday/Tuesday

    1) SORN it right now this instant if it isn't SORN'd already

    2) update V5c

    3) insure it

    4) take it for MOT and get a pass. You can ride to & from a pre-booked appointment with no Tax or MOT.

    5) tax it (online, but if you SORN today, you can't tax online for 5 working days, but you can at a Post Office.

    6) Sit in the house with your helmet on the table watching it rain continually for the next 6 months (except when it snows...)

Don't forget to update your Driving Licence, and any other V5 that you have.

I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

    Yes, that's the right order.

The address change takes seconds online - https://www.gov.uk/change-address-v5c

Yes, you can ride it to the test and back legally without tax or test, but you must be insured. Also, it MUST be in a roadworthy condition. If it isn't, you can't ride it legally, even with tax and test.
