I think you will find that other countries have speed limits too.1

Many of which will be fines on the spot. No money, no problem. We can escort you to a ATM 😶🌫️Ibrahim5 said:I think you will find that other countries have speed limits too.Life in the slow lane0 -
If you were caught at 57, your speedo likely showed 60 or near enough, as speedos do not show the exact speed, they always show more than you are doing. You can't complain you were treated harshly by knowingly driving ~10mph over the limit as far as your speedo was showing.jimmymcnulty said:ok, it may have been 57 now i think 10% and 2 miles i still thought was harsh
thanks okel, the bold words helped. Its still ridiculous and not intuitive I paid in June so will look back for payment but the process is messed up, I'm thankfully about to move out of this dump of a country.
ok did somebody answer my 'do i need to actually go to court' questionSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Interestingly, if you get caught speeding in Oman, they just add it to your tab. You can't leave the country without paying your tab though.0

good news all, my letter two weeks later seems accepted and 3 points on license. genuine thanks to all who helped but to all the bores "other countries have speed limits too" I wasn't complaining about fine at all, just the antiquated process of mailing in DL0

Good result. thanks for letting us know....just the antiquated process of mailing in DLAs another aside (I'm full of them
) were you told to send in your DL? It hasn't been a requirement for some time - it is only necessary to provide your licence details. I have heard that some police forces are still asking for the licence to be sent in. Once again, it would help us to help others. 0 -
no, I had to send something in. It was a photocopy in the end.
one issue, i tried to update my insurance with three points but it says its all automated. is that right, do nothing and they will pick up the three points0 -
Some insurers ask you for your licence number. If you provided that, you also probably agreed that they could use it to check your record.jimmymcnulty said:no, I had to send something in. It was a photocopy in the end.
