What does ‘delinquent’ mean?

Could someone more knowledgeable than me explain what this means, and the rules about why it wouldn’t have been defaulted. No payment made since before 2018 (probably 2017). There was court action in 2021 but this has been set aside.

Delinquent means that you have not paid your invoices as due, or with thirty days of them falling due.1 -

Delinquent means that you have not paid your invoices as due, or with thirty days of them falling due. They sent to debt collection October 2018, then took court action (CCJ was set aside about a month ago). I was under the impression that this would have been defaulted, but they said they can choose not to default. But the delinquency seems way worse than a default!0 -
I think the delinquent date should be set back to 2018.
I may have commented before- there are lots of these threads.

Refer to the ICO1 -

Refer to the ICO“Unfortunately, we are unable to retrospectively adjust the credit reporting on this occasion.Severn Trent Water issue a monthly 'snapshot' of our accounts noting the status of the balance outstanding and if any agreed payment plans are active on the account or not and report this information to the credit reference agencies accordingly.
The CRAs then use this basic information by assigning it to your credit file and determining your overall credit score impact.
Our reporting of ‘6’ relates to the age of the arrears outstanding and is noted as ‘6 months or more’ an insight default was not deemed to be required during the reporting on this account to date but the balance is likely to have been deemed in default by the credit reference agencies themselves for some time based on the basic monthly updates we have provided them.
Severn Trent Water have to report in-line with CRA guidelines and are only permitted to make amendments to what has been reported if there has been an error made by us and as I was unable to find any error, I have been unable to make any amendments”
I have said the error is the fact that no default has been registered as it should have been in 2018.
