Suggestions of what to do with a lump sum

Hello all.  I am due to come into circs £250k in a few months from inheritance and currently I have no idea what to do with such money.
I have historically struggled to handle large levels of funds and so this time I want to do the right thing and almost forget I have it for a few years, before I look to buy property.
Any suggestions?

For just a few years? Savings accounts. If you don't trust yourself you could lock the money away in a no-access fixed rate savings bond.

This sort of question comes up all the time and for a sensible answer you need to supply a lot more detail about yourself.
Age?
Family?
Job?
Etc.

You could benefit from paying an IFA to look at options.

Probably just putting it away in a savings account for a few years, would not necessarily be the best solution.
