Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers.
Still very dark out but dry for now, we've had a good run of mostly sunny and dry weather but I think it's to end today. Yesterday morning was thick fog, I could hardly see the washing line! Anyway the washing was all dry and put away, just one thing to iron so it can wait.
Coal delivery yesterday so I had the fire lit last night - it was nice and cosy once I had finished the housework and had a shower. Boiler service this morning but friends over the road will let him in.
Hope everything has settled down for you dp1.
Hugs to you Remmie.
Get well wishes to Mr Fix It.
My thoughts are with anyone struggling with life at the moment.
Happy Friday, take care. XX12 -
I need to get up very shortly so am enjoying the last bit of warmth in bed. It's still dark and cloudy outside, no stars this morning.Yesterday I had a surprisingly positive response from a government agency which lifted a worry from my shoulders. It was doubly good because I didn't expect it. 🎉😀 My nail appointment went well, had a great conversation with the young woman about family heritage, moving abroad and a quick dip into religion but not too much as she is a JW and I don't have a faith, or at least not much of one. This morning I'm off to see the practice nurse early doors, my ears are giving me gip, and then taking my friend shopping. Her husband is still laid up after surgery on one of his feet. Nor much else happening!
I hope that all are well and safe.11 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It's dry here but cold.
Yesterday was a beautiful day all day. We went out, down to Thirsk and Northallerton, got home at about 5.30pm. We had a lovely day, it was a nice change.
Remmie , sorry to hear that your dgd's situation is no better, hope it soon gets sorted out, it's a worry isn't it.
Don't think we're doing much today, I'm hoping to get some washing out.
Nice to see you posting Nanny, you're sounding busy at the moment.
Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of anyone who is not well, take care folks.13 -
Morning! Everyone here early doors this morning and I have to go out shortly for eggs and milk. I just didn't fancy doing it yesterday, was too long standing up so my ankle and leg are playing up now. I declined surgery on my ankle a few weeks ago because I thought it's not that bad since the injection but murphys law means it's now not great. Ah well...Not much else going on today, I made a sugo yesterday to make a lasagna, I'll make the pasta tomorrow and make enough to put in the freezer too. That'll use up some containers
And it's sunny htis morning even if it's cold so yay!
Gers, best idea, stay warm and post...If I could moe the computer uptairs I'd be tempted to do the same! camelot, how did the tests go to check for no nasties? Scarlet, glad you had a good day, nice to have a change of scenery now and again. Chris, have you a recipe for the cheese and bacon loaf? NRA, it's not difficult honestly. Things want to grow so plant them, protect them from things that want to eat them, then waitI think sometimes people can make things too difficult or act like it's special knowledge only the initiated know when really it is a lot of stick it in and see what happens and if it doesn't work, change it next time [or if you have enough space, experiment] I mean there are things you should and shouldn't do but in the main, stick them in and see...:) Ruby, the pork belly sounds lovely! Shame they don't understand down time though...snoozer, ironing? rather you than me
Redcross, same, I've got them in a couple of weeks, both jabs..makes it easier anyway, you don't have to go back again! nanny, thee's a meat van locally but it goes all round and I keep missing it, you've reminded me to put it in the calendar. Hope Mr Fixit feels better today...Right, tea time again, have a good day or at least a snuggly warm one.

Morning everyone
Nice bright blue skies here. Yesterday was weird - foggy in the morning and then quite hot and sunny by lunchtime.
Camelot - yes we seem to have settled down. Still trying to sort mam's two afternoons of respite care for dad, we have been told his care manager has to arrange it, but mam keeps phoning the care company to complain and then getting upset it's not sorted yet. Hopefully it will be in place by next week.
Had a lovely treat after work - little one at my house for a few hours - drum roll please! She's still on her feeding pump, but ate some spaghetti bolognese and apple crumble and we had a lovely time together. She was a bit of a whirlwind, wanting to see all her toys at once - I can't tell you all how lovely it was. She kept stopping what she was doing to give me another cuddle - she counted on the calendar it had been 91 days since she was at my house!
Fingers crossed she'll be back tomorrow night for a sleepover....DD has bought new furniture for their living room so will be busy building.
Tomorrow I'm doing a stained glass workshop - I'm really looking forward to it....something different and a Saturday for myself after the last few weeks of hospital visiting.
Eldest DD has started her journey back home - she's flying to Kuala Lumpar then staying at the airport overnight before she flies back to Germany.
Right better move myself as I need to go down to mam and dads before work.
Hope everyone has a good day and gets some sunshine x

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Another lovely day in store for us, we are getting spoiled! I have been out to the bins twice already this morning and it felt really mild out there.
I have been up and at 'em since early doors with not a lot to show for it! Now I am just having another coffee before I start the Friday Tidy (a dust and vac up and down) Later I will do the new month banking, about 4 days late!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Especially REMMIE who sounds to be having a very upsetting time of it just now. NAN I hope Mr Fix-it keeps his bug to himself. Take care all, stay safe xx

Hi everyone,
The cleaner is here so I'll be going out in a little while. Steve is off to the stables again, Brian has gone on a Spanish golf break, Esben is at school and Laura and Esther are at Sing and Sign. She loves it and very cutely signs a fair amount.
I've just looked at the french doors, Laura had taped some bubble wands to the frame, it was a good idea because Esther was spilling them when she held them. It looks like I need to get the sticky stuff remover out though.
We have a quiz tonight, food provided but it's always a not very good chilli with jacket potato (hard in the middle last year). Anyway, I've said I will take my own tuna filling because I don't think my dodgy stomach will cope with the chilli. It has the advantage of being true.
Hugs to all those in need.
Have a good day.12 -
Morning all, chilly but dry today. We had some lovely bright spells yesterday & after I posted DS dropped me off on the edge of the moorland road, and I walked back down taking in the views. Halfway back I got a call from my DB2 saying he was outside, told him where I was and said I'd hurry back. He took it upon himself to come and meet me( without telling me) and we missed each other. So I arrived back sweating to find him stood outside
. Swiftly inside for coffee and lots of catch up news, though we'll all see each other at the match tomorrow.
Picked up DGS after almost a week of not seeing him so we were told of his adventures in East Yorks. They were fossil hunting on the beach and he spotted a big tooth sticking out of the sand so he and his school friends dug further and it was attached to a whale jaw skeleton. His teacher said they would take it back to school and put it in a glass exhibit case. They also sadly saw a dead whaleI made a cottage pie for tea in the afternoon so that was ready to heat up once we'd dropped him at DS.DH popped into the docs with his BP readings, the receptionist said there were no appointments until later in the month. He said his pre-op assessment is next week, and she pointed to a machine and said you can do it yourself, which he did, but what he wanted was to see whether he needed tablets. He'll just have to take the readings to next weeks appointment & hope it's ok. What annoyed him was the waiting room had 1 person in it!Anyway must dash, hugs to all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all from a sunny but cold Mehefinland
Not posted for a few days as not had much to say. been reading along though.
My friend takes her doggy for physio in a special pool and treadmill. The physio's partner is the girl that does Showman's back and she enquired after me, as last time she came was not long after Dawn's passing. She had said she was quite concerned about me, which was nice really as we have only met a handful of times. I sent a message back to say I was ok and to make another appointment for the lad. He is stiff on the one side and doesn't 'bend' properly. To see this little woman ( she can only be 5ft 2") manipulating a nearly 1/2 ton horse is a sight to behold. He is so good with her and puts up with being pulled about with no malice or grumpiness.
Tried to have another bonfire to get rid of bramble and nettle brash but it was too damp. I will leave it a few days , but not too long as I don't want Mrs Hedgehog settling down in the pile.
Trying to get as much outdoor stuff done whilst the weather is reasonable. Cut back lawn yesterday and filled 2 recycling bags with needles from the pine tree - very little grass! Some interesting fungi growing through too but I was not tempted to pick them.
Think I may have a lodger in the loft - can hear the occasional strange noise. Will have to put my big boys pants on and investigate.
The local military establishment had an exercise on last night. Lots of wellycopters whizzing about, and an enormous BANG about 10.30. No doubt the jonnycomelatelys will be moaning. They should have been here when the Vulcan Bombers were being serviced- now they were noisy! Horse completely unfazed by it all -I thought they might re-act.
Hugs and spoons as always
