IHD & Solar Panels with Battery.

Having a bit of a sunny day with my 8 year old 3.14Kw solar panels + 13 month old 9.9Kw batters system nicely charging. Smart Meter & IHD fitted with a no standing charge tariff 02/10/24. I have set the display to be on all the time today to see how the 2nd Gen Smart Meter/IHD looks, 0 to 250w with DAB radio on from 10am till 1pm. Once it showed 0 and 3 time below 100w all another times with sun and charging ongoing 110w to 315w. How come please?
From 2pm with PC + screen + 4.30pm oven on. It shows 300w to 400w still with a 3/4 full solar battery. IHD shows 5.25Kw use today now 5pm. 2.5Kw use before sun came through this morning. Now with both nephew home 350w to 600w. This has me scratching my head any help would be nice, thanks.

With any battery there won't be a perfect balance between house loads and the grid. The battery, or more precisely its inverter needs to detect whether you're exporting or importing, and adjust its output to try and cancel it out. That's inexact firstly because it has to see power flowing before it can react and secondly because load can change quite rapidly, in fact instantly.

Now with the sun gone the house is during power from the batters, the IHD is showing 72w to 156w with the PC and screen on. Kw on IHD show 6.25Kw at 9pm. The battery's are now at 1/2 so about 3 < 4Kw left so will cover the homes need over night, hopefully lasting till the sun come up tomorrow.
