Be aware you could get "busted by the drugs squad" at some point. We had a visit after a previous owner of a previous house was arrested, and had pictures of what he was growing when he lived at ours.Very pleasant gentlemen with big boots came to just check we hadn't taken over the business0

Alanisakiwi said:Hi all,
I've just discovered (after getting the keys to my newly purchased property yesterday) a hidden room beside the basement with a hydroponic set up to grow presumably cannabis.
The building surveyor clearly missed this (I've asked the question why, to which the surveyor replied, "Why didn't you?") and the damp surveyor is hiding behind the "I wasnt instructed to check for additional hidden square footage - what a bonus!" line (not exactly ethical business practice).
Obviously a quite a stressful thing to find... what should I be doing here?
I've got an electrician coming around to sort the wiring (which might mean some ££), but is there anything else I should be doing? I presume I have no recourse against the building or damp surveyors as they have caveats protecting them?
Thanks for any and all help given!"Obviously quite a stressful thing to find..."Help me out here. You have an extra room you never knew you had, and a shedload of useful equipment that many nice folk will want to take off your hands, presumably for a nice sum."What should you be doing here?"
