Another £2.50 Vinted sale. With the car damage to pay out, I won’t get Very paid off by February as hoped. It’s looking more like April as January will have to be a minimum payment from budget and extra payments from Vinted sales. I’ve been paying extra from my income but will need to retain as much of that as possible to pay for the car repair.

Tiny bites of my elephant debt. I really want the Very debt paid so I can snowball into something else and pick up the pace. I need to see fewer lines on my budget planner page to keep up the motivation.  Being in debt sucks.

I feel your pain re birthdays. My DDs are pretty good but the DS’ are awful, no cards. I do feel like not bothering with them next year.

Wow. Blows my mind how a “mother” could be so petty. You’d seriously not bother with your sons because they don’t get you birthday cards? Have you ever wondered if there’s a reason on your part? Men are simple and practical creatures. Not giving cards and gifts is usually nothing personal. Not bothering with your own children however is personal and utterly selfish.

Is that really how you read that.  We mothers often "feel like" doing something like that when they have really annoyed us.  It does not mean that we ever would.

ETA  Interesting first visit after som many years though.

Thanks for you reply @Nintud. If you want me to remove my post I will.
By not bothering with them, I meant not sending a card. Badly worded on my part.

I understood what you meant. No need to remove.

Kids eh! Who’d have them 😆😆

I’m pretty sure 21 year old me thought it would all be roses and rainbows when they grew up.

Thankfully my daughters are a lot less judgemental than my adult sons.

In other news, I now have £121.07 pending in my Vinted account and I’m waiting for payment of a couple more items that I have accepted offers on. I’ve cleared out another big box of stuff from my apartment and have a big cardboard box for my eldest to turn into a spaceship with her childminded children. Decluttering and paying off Very. On target for a tidy flat and debt free life. I reckon I’ll be clear in 1000 days 😁

Signature updated to show Very progress. Natiowide CC is coming down slowly too, which is good as I’ll be snowballing overpayments into that once Very is paid off. All being well, Very will be paid off early April and Nationwide CC mid June.

I have £135 set aside for the Santander OD. That’s 3rd on my debt busting list, aiming to pay that off by the end of 2025 with snowball payments, Vinted sales, examiner fees and finished off with snowball payments when I finish my car loan.

    I have a plan 😁

  • I'm so glad your daughters got you something. As you said it's the thought that counts more than anything.

Frustrating about the car but sounds like you have a plan in place and vinted sales are going well.
