Yes and with photos if necessary for clarification. I went into quite a bit of detail: which exact wall, which exact coving, which exact skirting board etc etc.
(They probably groaned when they saw it!)

Under ABI Guidelines, an insurer is required to maintain subsidence cover "on reasonable terms" during and after a subsidence claim. A recent Financial Ombudsman decision held that an insurer who withdrew the cover was required to reinstate it for a period of 3 years after the Certificate of Structural Adequacy was issued "to provide assurance to other insurers that xxx's settlement of the claim has provided for a lasting and effective repair".
It's all too common that an insurer will forget to include external works and landscaping in the schedule. That can add significant cost if walls and pavings need reconstruction. If the "external works" damage pre-dates the damage to the house then they can fairly exclude it (as damage is only covered which occurs at the same time as the house and by the same cause)
