RNRB - is 1st spouse’s RNRB in place automatically?

My wife passed away Nov 2023. Her entire estate passes to me, including our house I continue to reside in.
I understand the NRB pertaining to my wife’s estate effectively transfers to me for use ultimately with my NRB in the winding up of my estate on my death.
Whilst I’m alive will I need to apply to retain her full RNRB for use to be available together with mine when I die - assuming the upcoming Budget doesn’t meddle with the current RNRB amounts as scheduled and they continue to be available?

You don’t have to do anything now, if required your executors can apply for it if it still exists.0
