How I wish I had all this before my dealings with this company
I parked at Cuerden Valley Park on 17 August but couldn't get the machine to work, coin slot seemed blocked and a message came up No card payment - so I presumed it was not working which I have had before and nothing happened but this time I got a charge letter which I appealed - turned down cause I could have rung them to pay - quite frankly didn't see that option and didn't have my phone with me, So I paid the discounted amount because the paperwork from them only arrived with me on 5 September the 14 day allowed was well over, but under the circumstances I thought was reasonable, but apparently not - my cheque has not been cashed and I now owe £120 I have appealed to the Landowners but they have not replied so far - Question is - is there anything to be done or have I admitted guilt

Why would you even pay2

Why did you send them money? Thank goodness it wasn't cashed!
Just ignore them as per the fourth post of the NEWBIES thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Just thought if I paid the minimum they would go away - they said I could have rung later, never even saw that option to be fair - presumably they haven't cashed the cheque because they are going for more cash - one of my children (police officer) says ignore it, but my other child ( credit controller) says it will cost me a lot more if I don't pay up0

"have I admitted guilt"Of what? You are dealing with dirty scammers who think they have found low hanging fruit and are trying to get more out of you.Their ridiculous new joint code of practice even says this (and doesn't even say you should have left site) so your offer was far too much anyway:F.3 Appeals where the charge should be reduced to £20 for a period of
14 daysf) where one or more payment machines were out of operation, no alternative payment
options were available (e.g. by phone) and the driver could not reasonably be expected to
have accessed machines on the controlled land that were still in operationArmed with that ignore the dimwits!

Thanks but they are saying the machine was working before and after me - do I have the right to ask them for proof, as I don't have any myself, but this seems a common theme with this Company, machines out of order and phones not answered - I paid on way out because it was unclear when payment was required - previous car park managers payments were made on entry -0

The credit controller is wrong.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
