Medhotels?????

I booked hotel rooms through medhotels at the end of April. This is the first time I have booked a holiday like this and I'm slightly worried. I booked two rooms in Spain and all went through o.K. got a invoice and hotel voucher through e-mail with a reservation number.Medhotels took 25% of the booking from my credit card at the time of booking but with less than three weeks to go to my holiday they have not charged my credit card for the remainder. They are suppose to take the balance five weeks from travel.I have tried to e-mail them with no response and get through by phone is very near impossible, one hour of listening to music and a recorded message saying how busy they are and to hang on because the call is very important to them. Does anyone have any advice on what to do next. I have got visions of me standing outside the hotel with a load of bags and no reservation.

If they have sent you the hotel voucher you should be ok. Phone the hotel direct to check if they have a note of your booking. Sometimes they dont get notification untill the week before.
You could also hedge your bets by re reserving with https://www.booking.com if they do the same hotel. They secure the booking with your C.C but dont take the money. The hotel charge you at checkout. Normally there are no cancelation fees up to 24hrs (double check) so at worst if med hotel voucher OK you would be charged 1 day cancellation with bookings.com.
This may not be as bad as it sounds. If you have the voucher and its valid. You could be in this hotel for the price of the deposit as they may have completely screwed up . Its not like you havent tried to pay them.
On the otherhand, if you get there and the voucher isn't valid. You fall back on your bookings.com reservation and then you'd have to process a charge back on your C.C for med hotels.
Not the ideal run in to a holiday. Hope this helps :-)0 -
Did you send an ordinary email or did you use their "contact us" on their website?
On their secure message website you have to put your booking ref No which is about 20 digits and letters long.
Once you get this up it will tell you your date of travel and you can send them a message.
I booked with https://www.broadwaytravel.com who are agents for Medhotels and also rather stangely CHEAPER for the same accomodation.
The booking voucher I received had Medhotels on it and the ref no.
Everything went smoothly on the holiday and there was also a Medhotels rep who came to the hotel.0 -
