Hi everyone,
Received letter from MIL Collection regarding a debt that is outstanding.
Out of curiosity i decided to open the letter.
The person/buisness they're looking for is a Coffee Shop. That's the name who they are looking for on the letter.
But has my address on it. I have googled the coffee shop and it is half a mile away from my address.
It's an outstanding Ruby Electricy account, outstanding amount of £1049 that needs to be paid.
What do i do? Forward letter to coffee shop? Bin it? Ignore it?
Thanks

Probably the simplest thing is to write "Not known at this address, return to sender" on the envelope, sellotape it back up and pop it in the post box.

You can assist MIL in their attempts to find the coffee shop but you are under no obligation to do so1

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
