Parcel sent via Ebay postage not received

Options
I sent a parcel last week via Ebay's postage which is supposed to inform the buyer of the purchase. It didn't.

I dropped the parcel in a Royal mail parcel drop box and videoed myself doing so for proof.

How do I proceed as this was last Friday and the estimated delivery date was 30th Sept ?

Hubb, I’ll say my usual thing, you are far too experienced a seller to be getting stressed about this. The eBay EDD are rubbish, it’s discussed here all the time, so why are you worrying about a package being a day past the EDD - is buyer already hassling you?

if buyer is hassling you be polite , explain that item is on its way and re assure them it should hopefully be with them shortly. If buyer isn’t hassling you, then leave it, wait for buyer to say something.

All parcels now have basic tracking, what service did you use and what does it say if you enter the number in the courier checking page? If it was Royal Mail for instance RM48 RM24 will show a drop off scan and one when it is delivered, if it is lost then you need your proof of postage from RM or the post office to make a claim, but you are way off that yet.

Ok, thanks. I just hope it turns up tomorrow. I was always told on here that if I go through Ebay for postage I am covered if it goes wrong.

The one thing I didn't think of was whether you were on the new simple postage test- are you? That has only just been announced and I didn't think anyone was able to use it yet. If you are then the rules ae different and I don't even think they have been properly published yet but they do say you are covered.

If you mean you just bought postage labels like most of us then you still need your POP in some form unless, with certain couriers it shows as in the system and formally lost already. Nothing has changed and I can't imagine any regulars suggesting otherwise. As usual you would have to make a claim as long as your item was allowed- and that isn't checked by ebay before you use one of the postage options they facilitate.

It got there the next day so panic over.

I will say that the Ebay postage system has become so unreliable. Yesterday I paid for postage and opted for Royal mail to collect at my door. Suffice to say nobody called and the parcel is already a day late. What a shambles!

This is down to Royal Mail, eBay have no control over the RM service.

It's possible that the communication misses. RM are pretty poor at this. I've just started daily collections with RM. Their email told me it would be from 4.55pm onwards. Driver arrives at 4.30pm. He said he couldn't collect any later due to other commitments and he was the only one doing it.
Presumably if you throw Ebay into that mix then it's going to have problems.
