Broken pipe under boiler

Hello,
We noticed that a pipe underneath our boiler is broken. I have no idea how long ago this happened. A small amount of sticky fluid comes out (maybe a drop per hour). The boiler works ok. I was wondering if anyone knows what this pipe is used for.
Also, who would I get to replace this? Would it be a boiler repair man or a plumber?
Thanks

It might be the condensate pipe.
What is the age, make and model of the boiler?
It needs repairing or replacing. Condensate is slightly acidic.
I am unsure whether you need a gas safe person or whether a plumber or even a DIY repair is permissible. Wait until someone more knowledgeable posts.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".2 -

But if the boiler is still under warranty, it would be wise to use a Gas Safe engineer - Get it done as part of a service, and it shouldn't cost a fortune.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

The condensing process in a condensing boiler, produces a small amount of acidic liquid. A plastic pipe is fitted to remove it, which usually goes outside and is connected to the main drain pipes, although there can be other arrangements.
Looking at the state of the broken joint, I wonder if they have used the wrong type of plastic and the acid has affected it. Although most plastic used in domestic pipework ( PE, PVC, Polybutylene etc ) is acid resistant.1 -
Wonder if someone has had a heat source on that bend at sometime, maybe to get better fit or unfreeze if ever frozen.0
