Byron doorbell plug in reset problem

Hi, help or advice needed pleas. I have a Byron 22324 UK Byron plug in door bell system (NOT VIDEO JUST CHIMES) comprising of a bell push unit stuck to the door outside, a plug in chimer and a second portable battery powered chimer which we have on the landing so we can hear either of the chimer units from anywhere in the house. I recently moved the plug in unit to another plug socket in the same room it had been in for six months and it ceased to work. The portable unit still works. Originally the set up had been a bit quirky to set up, but we managed to follow the instructions eventually and set it all up. I’ve tried following the reset instructions (pretty much unplug then plug back in again & listen for the short chime on the plug in unit) but the plug in unit doesn’t chime. I’ve tried removing all the batteries and putting them back in, in order. (Push button unit first, then plug in then listen for chime = doesn't happen), I’ve also tried dong them all out of the order in the instructions. The mobile unit continues to work just fine, but I can’t get the plug in unit to ring.  The set is only six months old and worked fine until I moved the plug in unit. (I’ve tried it back in its original location and still doesn’t work). All the batteries are proven to be working. Any people with experience of this know of a solution?

Sadly, they don't last that long IME. I had two work and eventually die on me after a few years. Just use a cheapo battery operated unit now which has been OK for over 4 years. You realise the bell push battery needs replacing when you see somebody standing at the door and didn't hear the ring, because it didn't!
You can pick up units for under £20 with two ringers. Not sure if they are sold with one plug-in and one battery though, but unless you have lots of callers, the batteries last for many months, must be at least a year since I changed mine.
