Contents of outbuildings

Hi everyone,
We have a garage/workshop that is not attached to the house but within our grounds that we use for woodworking, a car restoration and general DIY. We have lots of tools and feel that the sum that appears on insurance quotes about £7500) is not enough to cover the cost of the tools, car parts, bits of wood etc. Can we increase the outbuilding cover or will it have to be a separate insurance policy?
Thanks in advance

Can we increase the outbuilding cover or will it have to be a separate insurance policy?Depends on the type of policy you have. The quality ones usually have the ability to add all sorts of things (tractors, trailers, equipment etc) but the comparison site ones tend to be quite limited as they are designed to cater for the price focused consumer looking who is top of their list. Not what cover they may or may not be getting.

Thank you @dunstonh that makes perfect t sense as it has been through the comparison websites that I have been looking. Can you recommend any insurance companies that would allow us to increase the insurance as well as doing the regular home buildings and contents insurance?
Thank you0 -
Can you recommend any insurance companies that would allow us to increase the insurance as well as doing the regular home buildings and contents insurance?its not my area really and there are others better placed to answer that question. However, in our area NFU are popular due to many ex farms or rural properties with workshops and barns etc. They certainly cover all sorts of things that you would not get on a normal household policy. But they are a quality provider and that is reflected in the price.

How much are you looking for outbuildings content?
What is your total sum insured including the outbuildings?
What's the rebuild if you are looking for buildings and contents?
There are a couple of players in the mid tier like NFU that may have more appropriate limits. You then have the top tier players who cover your contents no matter where it is but these are aimed and priced at those that want top tier cover and not cheap cover.0
