Hi everyone. Hope you can give some insight!

As title suggests, I'm looking for travel insurance (single trip) that includes end supplier failure either as standard or as an option.

I'm booking a trip all independently so flights, car hire, accommodation and other stuff. As the car hire and accommodation may not be covered under a usual policy, I'm searching for one that will cover me if the accommodation or car hire firm goes bust or are cancelled on me.

I've been through numerous policies but they all draw a line at end supplier failure, I know this used to be a thing as have had a previous policy with it included for such an issue, but can't find one now. Have all the insurance providers stopped offering this? What happens now?

Any suggestions or alternatives you suggest would be most welcome.
Thanks.

Why not just book them using a card for payment and then you can do a chargeback if they fail? Even if you have insurance the insurer will expect you to attempt other recovery mechanisms first.

Direct Line's travel policy still includes End Supplier Failure
  • I did have this reply from Cover For You that explains that part of the disruption cover may help. Might be the same for other providers too.

    ---------

Kindly note that we do not provide End Supplier Failure cover under our policies.

However, we would like to let you know that subject to the policy terms and conditions, under our additional travel disruption cover, we include the following:

    — We will cover you up to the amount shown in the Table of Benefits for your reasonable additional accommodation and public transport travel expenses (up to the standard of your original booking) so that you may continue your trip If your trip is disrupted due to:
    1. a catastrophe or
    2. the insolvency of the accommodation provider or their booking agents,
    3. the public transport on which you were booked to travel being cancelled or delayed (as shown in the Table of Benefits), diverted or redirected after take-off or,
    4. you are involuntarily denied boarding and no suitable alternative is offered within the timeframe shown in the Table of Benefits.
