According to this webpage, the transitional protection would not be lost when your son leaves education regardless of the reason that you qualified for transitional protection: When Will My Universal Credit Transitional Protection End? | Turn2us
Also, because your transitional protection is a set amount that is allowed because you were receiving the Severe Disability Premium, it would be perverse to remove it because of a change of circumstance that was unrelated to your disability. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1 -
Once awarded, the transitional element is part of your award. It can only be lost in two ways, your UC claim closes or through erosion due to benefit increases. A change of circumstance that reduces other elements will not affect the transitional element. You will of course lose the child element when your son finishes his course.1
