No bill since smart meter installation

My tariff ran out in July and I was required to have smart meter fitted with the new EDF tariff.
My DD went up and they have been taken on time, I had a look on the website and I have not had a bill since the installation and the readings are showing as zero on the site.
I have been taking my own readings but there does not appear to be an option to submit the readings.
I will telephone them but they are not available on the weekends.

Just curious if others have had a similar experience.

You are way past the time you would expect for a new meter to be working.  So, contacting them is going to be your next step.

There are two issues, one is that the readings are not showing, however are they not showing in the Energy Centre thing (that shows your usage) or just not showing in billing? The second is that by default EDF bill on a roughly six month cycle, so you may not have completed a billing period yet.

Aren't EDF one of the suppliers moving over to more regular billing ?

Thought I read a post here on forum c Jan time - from someone on standard credit / paper billing being moved to monthly statements from quarterly.

Yes replicated here - not a source I like to quote - but came top of google

Even if not billing you - they should be able to confirm they are or are not succesfully receiving the smart data from DCC netowrk.

It generally only takes weeks - not months.

My readings were at EOn within a week according to CS - When I rang to check - and so I got a bill issued after 3 weeks at end of month - to check my peak / off-peak registers were being billed correctly - and I wasn't on monthly statements (having always been 6m / twice per year ).  EOn Next are now monthly smart.

They are/were, but not everyone has been moved over, they did not expect to move everyone to regular billing until the 2025 and they still class regular as only every three months.

The meter is working and shows my day and night usage and also the little plug in display unit is showing my total KWH usage (I was told by the installer that gave me the display that it does not breakdown the day and night usage).
The website is showing 0 usage.

The meter was installed while I still had 3 weeks left of the fixed cheaper tariff left to run, on the phone in July they confirmed I would still be on that Tariff until it ran out 3 weeks later.
  • I managed to get through to EDF and I gave him my day and night readings so they can generate a bill.
He said he will get someone to make sure they start receiving my smart meter readings without me
having to call them so I am not sure what they forgot to do.

Anyone else with EDF, I used to be able to submit my readings online but that option is not available
since having the smart meter installed, is that the case with you?

It's probably worth having a look at one of the third party sites (3nergy, Loop & Bright - with the last two being apps) to see whether they can see the data from the meter or not. If they can, then the issue is likely to be an EDF one. If not, probably a meter (or rather, a comms hub) problem.

Also - keep a note of the readings you have submitted and the date you submitted them - EDF have form for not always recording manual readings!

It has always seemed perverse that in a nation with almost 4m hones on e7 and other multirate deals tge smart meter IHDs cannot cope with peak and off peak.

But with simple arithmetic you can calc the split.

I use a spreadsheet calc from totals - kWh and price - (daily weekly monthly) and the ihd prices (rates and SC - which have been wrong vs bills in past) to get the peak / off-peak splits and confirmed roughly against monthly statements.
