I bought a new Samsung phone A35 about 10 days ago. I am now getting security alerts saying I have got virus on it. Think it is advertising security like McAfee or other protection. It is frightening me. Can you please help me once again. As I am elderly I value the help and support on these forums. Sue

Almost certainly spam. How are you getting these alerts? Email? Notifications from an app like Facebook?
For any notification you can touch it to bring up a menu that includes blocking notifications from this app.
It's hard to get a virus on an Android phone, unless you install apps from outside the Google/Samsung stores or click on unsolicited links in emails or texts or messages.2 -
I have not touched anything when I see it I just move away from it. Just now it is saying your device is severely damaged by 13 malware Says 62% damaged by Tor Jack Malware malicious and aggressive ads have injected this on your device. Action required to remove and prevent it from spreading this will leak sensitive data from your device Includes Social Media Accounts Messages Images Passwords and important Data. SAYS CLICK THE BUTTON BELOW AND PRESS allow and subscribe to error alerts 2 run the anti virus scan to remove viruses Then it says remove virus now. I didn't have the pin code on to start with, It is scary ! I do appreciate your help with this0

Did you buy in a shop? If so & not sure on how to fix take it back & let them look at it.
But under no circumstances click on ANY LINK...Life in the slow lane1 -
I actually bought it online from Argos. I am too scared to touch anything. Thanksx0

Assuming you didn't follow the advice from the other thread of side loading application then it is likely via the browser you have managed to get some malware on the phone.
Does it look like this https://www.pcrisk.com/removal-guides/22600-your-device-has-been-compromised-pop-up-scam-android
If so, there are instructions there on how to remove it.
The other option if you have the data to restore the phone is to do a factory reset and just set it up again.1 -
I have looked at that link and it is exactly the same as the link you have posted. Says exactly the same.
As suggested I did go in last Monday to see a chap who does repairs of all kinds on all sort of tech. He has a shop selling a lot of things but there are 2 of them working there. He said he was so busy that he could not take in any further work but if I came along he would have a look at things, He said doing a factory reset would download the second FB account too.
To get rid of that he would have to do what sounded like a complicated job and he would need to take the phone for a day so. He did what ever and it may still be there but I am no longer seeing that. He reset some things also and other than these messages all is well. He reset some things as I was forgetting passwords etc.
I have just looked at security and privacy and there are 2 suggestions
1 says account security check your Samsung account. I don't remember setting up a Samsung account
2 says app security says turn on app protection.
Should I click on those ?
Sorry for getting things so muddled. I don't know what side loading is. I am aged 82 so not of the generation where it comes easy to them.
I have had 3 Motorola phones and I always managed to set them up and transfer everything from my old phones without a problem. I am going to watch some you tube videos to be more familiar with this actual phone
Thanks Sue

Don’t worry these are not viruses. You’ve gone to websites and allowed notifications which are trying to sell you various cleaners and anti virus software. The key to these things is to think before clicking something. Is it the official site, is it an advert, check your spelling of a web address. If unsure then ask someone you trust.0
