Old Boiler making a chirping noise - what does it mean?

I have an old Ideal WLX CF40 boiler. It probably should have been replaced years ago but following ill health and redundancy I have not managed to do it. But it has always been reliable.

Now there is a chirping sound coming from the boiler and I have no idea what it means.

Can anyone tell me what this means? Is it safe to run the boiler?

It is telling you to get a gas safe certified person in or if you fancy it a youtube search but really get a professional in to check it over and service it if that's not been done.

Could it be a carbon monoxide sensor mounted close to the boiler?  If so, that could be chirping because the battery has gone flat.
If so, you probably need a new detector.  Even on the ones with replaceable batteries, the detector often reaches its expiry date before the batteries go flat.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
