Morning all from sunny Mehefinland
Well got the bill sorted yesterday with no further hassle, That's one less thing to worry about.
Ventured into the loft in the afternoon - OMG there is so much stuff in there, not all of it ours but also from previous owners. Got down 3 big bags and a number of boxes and started sorting out the carp. Good job it's black bags this week as I will easily fill several just with assorted junk. There were a few poignant things amongst the junk though. DS's first wellies! Loads of slides ( which I can't view properly so in the bin). All the good luck charms given to Dawn on her wedding day - mostly plastic stuff, but included 2 'proper' horseshoes which I imagine came from her ponies at the time ( That one brought a lump to my throat). Its a work in progress and will take a long time but needs to be done before I can improve the insulation.
A bad night's sleep pondering all the work I need to do, and then I dropped off after the alarm had gone only to find my friend Hele waiting for me by the gate. She came to the field with me to help out, and as she says, to learn. Think she may be slightly OCD as everything has to be just so. After 40+ years of mucking out etc you learn the quick ways and sometimes leave things a little longer before tackling them. She will get there in due course, but it was strange having someone else at the stables early in the morning. As we parted she said she didn't want to overstep the mark and to tell her if I needed space or whatever. I don't think she fully appreciates how much I have been craving company on occasions.
Lovely pictures of the northern parts - I always wanted to go oop north but have never made it. Can't see it happening now unfortunately.
Hugs and spoons as always

I’m three years ahead of you Derek and still sorting ,I’ve kept them because I think they can be converted ? Might be worth hanging onto yours for a bit .

The new central heating boiler kicked in this morning and I’m trying to get to grips with this Hive controller ! Everyone tells me it’s simple but I’m just not computer compatible!

Morning All
Later one from me but my excuse is that yesterday was awake at 3am!
Finally have some sun but still a nip in the air.
Derek I agree with Chrisca see if you can get some of the slides converted.
A number if years ago my late Ddad gave me a box full of slides. Out of over 300 I found 5 with my late Dmum ( who passed when I was 10). I had them converted to photos. She was like me and didn't really like having her photo taken but to me they are precious. I still have the slides so I may do what Chrisca has suggested as well
Lovely pic Gers gad you enjoyed your trip x
TA hope you get your bits and pieces so sad about your SIL
Silver well done for persevering with your meetings
Nan lovely to see you posting try to not overdo things. Your comments about your Ddad reminded me of Nels mum. Didn't we once say we would get them together?
Dgd sent home from school on Thursday I know she isn't well when she doesn't want to play football. DGS finally found a school after their move and starts Monday. Think he will be shattered getting back in routine
Right I need to get started making a stew for later and I am going to try my soup maker. I have had it for 2 years and not used it yet!!

Morning all
Bright and sunny here after lots of rain this week I have a wash about to finish so will get it on the line for a while. Yesterday after getting wet and cold walking the dogs I lit the log burner late afternoon it was so cosy and warm the temp out was around 8 deg but very cosy indoors.
I have had a headache for two days which I can’t seem to shift with tablets I hope it’s not a bug, housework to do and then I should pop round and see mum as I’ve not seen her all week.
Have good days all and take care xx11 -

@mehefin maybe when things are more settled you could consider a coach holiday up north? Also, do you have a spare room you could put some of the attic contents in so you can start to get the insulation down?
@newroadahead @Suffolksue and @Chrisca50 my SiL got her family's old cine film converted and my DS2 converted his grandads camcorder recordings - it's so emotional and comforting to see people who are no longer with us xx2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
