Hi.

Mum used to knit jumpers for us once upon a time. But, now she's gotten older and has arthritis. What can I do with this machine?

I have put it up on ebay but there does not seem to be anyd emand for it!

Many years ago I gave a knitting machine to a charity that sent knitting & sewing equipment to Africa to enable woman to start small businesses to create income for their family.  Sorry I cannot recall the charity but I think I donated it via a church organisation.  Perhaps do a search or offer it to a local art/craft project.

You are unlikely to get a buyer who will want to pay more than a pittance so better to donate to a good cause.

That sounds like the one I donated to so glad to have a link now.  Ebaying or free cycling will probably end with the machine becoming someone else's problem.  Much better for the machine to go to a home where it will be valued rather than gathering dust under the spare bed.  A great legacy for your Mum to feel proud of.
