What happened to my car?

Had a brand new car on a 3 year PCP, whilst we loved the car the balloon payment was vastly more than the sticker price of similar cars up for sale at Mercedes dealerships so an obvious hand it back situation.
Shortly after did a google and unsurprisingly saw it was up for auction, did think about it but didnt try to buy it back. This was in 2016
For a slightly random reason, decided to look the car up today and can see they MOT'ed the car (failed first time due to a headlight, passed later the same day) after I gave it back but it has never been taxes, insured or MOT'ed since. On a random website I've never heard of before they claim it's not been exported, though one dealership had suggested its colour way would do better in other regions. A google suggests that even today it'd be about £16k
Curious as to what happened to it?

One of my vehicles was purchased with a PP already on it.
It's a 2009 vehicle but only has an online record going back to 2016, so certainly in my case, the history didn't transfer.0 -
Ok, so ponied up for the full report... not stolen, not scrapped, no plate changes (though dont know if it would show if it's transferred off this plate?), no previous keepers.
Guessing it must have gone to a different plate just surprised the old plate still brings it up... know a couple of cars on personalised plates but dont know their original plate to be able to see how they come up0 -

Most free sites tell me my old plate is not found, one did give the info of my car with old plates, but the site above stated "Vehicle’s Reg Plate on retention" so might tell you if old plate been taken off.

People exporting cars don't always tell DVLA.
When you export one, you're meant to either notify them online, or send the blue V5C/4 slip by post. The rest of the V5C goes with the car.
If the postie misplaced it, or they simply didn't bother, then it'll still show without EXPORT MARKER : YES on Vehicle Enquiry.0 -

Just recently, they have had a whole load of 2013 Mercedes cars all with pretty much sequential number plates so indicating they have come off a fleet or hire of some kind. These are all being offered for sale at "top dollar" price point given the model and age.
I have been trying to fathom what type of fleet would churn out 10 yo cars still able to retail at top-end price point.
Perhaps all the 2013 MBs traded in 2016 went to some mystery holding place and just stored for a number of years before being recovered and put out to retail channels. I suppose such an event could occur if a Dealership went into administration and stock ended up in suspense.0
